About RISE…

Rise Cycle Co. | Indoor Cycling + Fitness Studio offers spin and group exercise classes at their two locations in Sonoma County, California (Santa Rosa). All classes (cycle, sculpt, and barre) are suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Classes take place in studios where we turn the music up and the lights down to workout in a nightclub vibe. We encourage everyone to just sweat and move, the rest is extra, so book your spot, come as you are and let’s go!!!

About the founder…

“Hi there, I’m Kelsey! I grew up as a dancer and fitness junkie. I attended the University of Virginia where I earned my B.S. in Kinesiology: Exercise Physiology & Sports Medicine. I am a proud science nerd and earned my Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Boston University School of Medicine. While I am currently a plastic surgery PA, I jokingly say indoor cycling is the career that chose me.

I began teaching group fitness classes in 2013 when I created the barre class format for a gym in San Diego. I discovered indoor cycling shortly after and was so hooked on riding to the beat and dancing on bikes that I kept teaching in every city I lived in.

I find pure joy in teaching other people how to lead spin classes as more than a workout. I have consulted for 12 studios both nationally and internationally, co-founded a studio in Nashville, and trained more than100 instructors.

I moved to Sonoma County in 2019 with my wonderful husband, Drew, and our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Nugget and Brody. I opened Rise Cycle Co. in Santa Rosa on Feb. 8, 2020… 5 weeks before we had to close due to the COVID pandemic shelter-in-place order. We rented our bikes out and filmed video classes that we kept free for anyone to view. We held classes outside in four locations where we dealt with weather, wildfires, and hazardous air conditions, but we persevered thanks to our amazing team and Rise community. We just opened our second studio location, Petaluma, and are so happy to have two studios operating indoors haha.

I believe that working out should be fun because if something is fun, you will look forward to it and do it for the rest of your life, so whether it is cycle, bootcamp, or barre, you better believe we will be doing it with loud music and a nightclub vibe. I believe that there is no wrong way to move, to be, or to feel, so whether you are 8, 80, or anywhere in between, whether you are an athlete or have never exercised a day in your life, YOU ARE WELCOME AT RISE. You don’t have to look a certain way or perform at a certain level to belong here. Rise is a community where we are all on our own journeys and will always support each other along the way.

Thank you for taking the time to read this story. If you haven’t visited already, I hope you come try a class and introduce yourself! I love feedback and am always striving to make Rise better, so feel free to email me at info@risecycleco.com or share your ideas with me at the studio. I can’t wait to move, sweat, and rock out with you soon!”
